New Year's Day on the London Eye
On New Year's Day, the weather forecast was so good that I booked three trips on the London Eye. The first trip was just after 10 in the morning, when the Eye begins to operate. The second trip began at about 3.30 pm, just before sunset (4.02 pm), and the third trip was after dark (beginning about 6.40 pm). This is a selection of the pictures I took.

A police car speeding across Westminster Bridge

| 20th September 2010. I was trying to take pictures of the Palace of Westminster with the sunset in the background. Over the period of a couple of minutes several police motorcycles and cars sped over the bridge, sirens blaring. I took this picture on the spur of the moment without really thinking about it. |
