Paul Embery offers the FBU's support to a rally of striking university staff from across London. University employers have offered a below-inflation pay increase, which has led to the first simultaneous strike of three unions: UCU, UNISON, and Unite.

Revolving Torsion

This is a subject I've photographed before, but the light on this occasion was rather beautiful. It is Naum Gabo's sculpture, Revolving Torsion, located in the grounds of St. Thomas's Hospital.

London South Bank Skateboard Park

The skateboard park at London's South Bank is under threat, due to development plans. There is a petition here to keep the skateboard park, and there is also a Facebook group here where people can keep up with what is happening.

The pictures below were taken as I passed by the skateboard park a few days ago.

London, old and new.

This gibbet stands on the beach outside The Prospect of Whitby pub on Wapping Wall. It commemorates the custom, in the 17th century, of the notorious "Hanging" Judge Jeffreys.
