A bird of prey in Trafalgar Square

7th January 2013: I wandered into Trafalgar Square today on the offchance that I might see the large Christmas tree being taken down (yesterday was the 12th day of Christmas). I got there a little too late for that, but then I saw this man with a Harris Hawk on his hand and a little crowd of people around him. It turns out that a bird of prey is brought to Trafalgar Square on a daily basis in order to scare the pigeons away*. This guy, with his one year-old bird, had just reached the end of his shift. I hope one morning I might be able to get some pictures when the sun is out.

* The company involved is Van Vynck Environmental Services.
